The owner is one of a kind! I didn't get to talk to his wife/owner but I really enjoyed talking to him. I came in specifically for 1 beer and it did not disappoint. He makes sure he has a beer for everyones taste and likes. He cares about the customer! He told me they are known for their peanut butter beers which is what I went there for ironically. Inside is CLEAN! Comfortable bar stools with thick cushions.

Unexpected Craft Brewing Company is a new brand, but not a completely new company.

 

River Rouge Brewing Company is the parent company and UCBC is our latest project.

 

The name of UCBC came about reflecting on our journey into this business. After more than 20 years of working in the film industry and having the privilege of meeting outstanding brewers in the San Diego, California area, Edward discovered that beyond being a beer connoisseur he had an unexpected skill: in addition to enjoying a good beer, he could also brew one as well.

 

In case this is the first time you are hearing about RRBC, it was named one of the most amazing nanobreweries in the U.S. by Food & Wine magazine for 2015.

 

The Detroit News Press hailed our Peanut Butter Chocolate Stencel Stout “a must have beer for Super Bowl 2019.”

 

And consistently awarded a rating of 4 ½ stars by Yelp and a 4.7 stars by Google rating.

 

Edward continues to be our head brewer, and you can expect to find many of the beers that you enjoyed at RRBC, yes, that means that Peanut Butter Chocolate Stencel stout is on the menu.

Our beer menu reflects our head brewer’s eclectic taste, Edward enjoys brewing all types of beers. At our tap room you can enjoy a Belgian ale, or you can venture into tasting some of our latest concoctions. We are also well known for our barrel aged batches.
